What Do Patients Think of the Surgery?
One of the most exciting aspects of lower blepharoplasty is the dramatic transformation that it can provide. Patients often report feeling more confident and energized after the procedure, with a renewed sense of self-confidence and a more youthful, vibrant appearance. But perhaps the most satisfying aspect of lower eyelid blepharoplasty is that it can be customized to suit your unique needs and goals.
Dr. Renelle Lim, oculofacial surgeon, understands that every patient is different, and she works closely with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their individual needs and goals.
What Is the Procedure Like?
First, patients receive anesthesia to ensure they have a pain-free procedure experience. Dr. Lim then progresses step-by-step through your procedure plan, creating incisions at key locations around the lower eyelids. Through these incisions, she makes adjustments such as removing fat, repositioning underlying tissues, and tightening the area by removing excess skin. Once everything is complete to satisfaction, she closes the incisions with sutures.
From start to finish, patients can expect a procedure of about 1 to 2 hours, though this can vary. Procedures can last longer if you are combining lower blepharoplasty with additional surgery as part of your plan. After Dr. Lim finishes the surgery, you are taken to a comfortable room where you can rest while the anesthesia wears off. As lower eyelid surgery is an outpatient procedure, you are free to return home the same day once you are ready (but you will need someone to drive you).
