UltraClear Laser in Sarasota

What Is the UltraClear Laser?

We never settle for second-best with laser skin treatments. The UltraClear Laser is a revolutionary, cold fiber laser. While still ablative, it provides exceptional personalization with less heat than traditional resurfacing lasers. This difference cuts down the risk of post-treatment inflammatory hyperpigmentation and opens the treatment to patients of all skin types. Such accessibility simply would not be possible with a CO2 laser. We are proud to offer this treatment at the Sarasota Institute of Dermatology and Oculoplastic Surgery.

What Is an UltraClear Laser Session Like?

  • Will It Hurt?: As a cold fiber laser, UltraClear reduces any discomfort during treatment. Even though it is an ablative laser, patients describe it as feeling mostly like a mild tingling sensation. Patients rarely even need topical numbing.
  • What Happens During the Treatment?: Your specialist will move the laser device over the treatment areas. Depending on your goals, you may need only a single pass over each area.
  • How Long Does It Take?: On some settings, patients can have a 10-minute lunchtime peel. For deeper skin concerns, a session may last up to 1 hour. It depends on the size of the treatment area and the settings used.

UltraClear Laser FAQs

Recovery after an UltraClear session should be mild and short. Generally, patients will not need to stay home from work or most activities. So there is no real downtime. However, deeper treatments may result in some required downtime. For example, deep laser-coring treatments may require several days to 1 full week of downtime. On average, patients can wear makeup in 4 to 5 days after even aggressive UltraClear treatment. In comparison, it can take up to 10 days with a CO2 laser.

We recommend taking a few precautions after treatment. For superficial treatments, avoid vigorous exercise or exertion for 3 days. Avoid for 5 to 7 days for deeper treatments. Also, your skin will need a break from harsher skin care products for about 2 weeks. These include retinoids, any acids, and exfoliants.

  • The Initial Results: You may notice initial improvements in as few as 2 days for a lunchtime peel. Deeper treatments can vary, with results beginning to appear within 1 to 2 weeks for most patients. After this, you may see continued improvements as collagen remodeling continues.
  • Final Results: Deeper skin concerns may require a regimen of sessions to reach your full results. Depending on your concerns, this could range between 2 and 5 treatments.
  • Your Results Duration: UltraClear Laser results can last from a few months to 5 years, depending on your treatment type. The 10-minute lunchtime peel keeps your skin fresh for a few months. Deeper treatments rejuvenate multiple layers of skin, providing benefits for 1 to 5 years.

The UltraClear Laser was designed for patients who want broader customization. Your skin has unique needs, so why settle for any treatment that does not recognize this? UltraClear gives patients a new level of control over their appearance, with 5 core modes:

  • Clear Mode: Targets the most superficial layer of skin. Best for clearing mild sun damage and improving skin cell turnover.
  • Clear+ Mode: Targets outer skin layers (epidermis). helps with moderate sun damage and improves fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Ultra Mode: Targets deeper skin layers (dermis). Activates collagen remodeling, smooths lines, reduces some mild scarring, and improves vascular dyschromia.
  • UltraClear Mode: Targets both superficial skin cells and deeper tissues in a single pass. Improves severe sun damage, activates collagen remodeling, and smooths deeper lines.
  • Laser-Coring Mode: Precise removal of excess tissue at variable depths and densities. Targets deeper wrinkles and provides mild to moderate skin lifting in multiple facial areas.
The cost of your treatment plan will depend on the treatment mode, duration, number of sessions, and treatment areas. For the lunchtime peel, patients can expect a lower cost per session, whereas a deeper treatment involves a more complex process. During your consultation, your specialist will work with you to build a plan that fits your budget and best addresses your cosmetic concerns.
